What is Datei?
“Datei” is German for file.
But also for document. And dataset. Basically anything you really don’t want to lose.
Datei is an open source, self-hosted document management platform.
The source code is available on GitHub.
Why Datei exists
Datei gives you full control over your files. You run the platform on your own infrastructure, or at least own the whole instance that holds your data: a storage bucket that is yours and a database no one else shares.
Owning every part of the stack is what keeps you in control of the data you collect.
